Plug & Ride

King County is writing the next chapter in the effort to turn the corner on climate change – one it hopes will help spur nationwide consumer demand for electric and battery powered vehicles.

King County Metro’s Plug & Ride program is a key initiative in growing the plug-in vehicle market. Plug & Ride will promote the use of existing charging stations at the Issaquah Highlands, Eastgate, Redmond, Brickyard and Burien Park & Rides to help the region go electric and cut fuel consumption.

As of September 2011, King County Metro manages 44 Plug & Ride spaces:

  • Eastgate Park & Ride - 3 spaces (Click here for a .pdf map of locations)
  • Issaquah Highlands Park & Ride - 14 spaces (Click here for a .pdf map of locations)
  • Redmond Park & Ride - 12 spaces
  • Brickyard Park & Ride - 5 spaces
  • Burien Transit Center - 10 spaces (First come, first served. Pay-to-charge stations.)

Plug & Ride Registration

Upon registration, use of these parking stalls will be limited to owners of plug-in vehicles enrolled in the program. Participants registered to a Level 1 charging station will receive free electricity. Participants who use the Level 2 stations (Burien Transit Center) will need to pay for electricity with a credit card.
