Plug & Ride

King County is writing the next chapter in the effort to turn the corner on climate change – one it hopes will help spur nationwide consumer demand for electric and battery powered vehicles.

King County Metro’s Plug & Ride program is a key initiative in growing the plug-in vehicle market. Plug & Ride will promote the use of existing charging stations at the Burien Transit Center and Issaquah Highlands, Eastgate, Redmond and Brickyard Park & Rides to help the region go electric and cut fuel consumption.

As of April 2010, King County Metro manages 39 Plug & Ride spaces:

  • Burien Transit Center - 5 spaces
  • Eastgate Park & Ride - 3 spaces (Click here for a .pdf map of locations)
  • Issaquah Highlands Park & Ride - 14 spaces (Click here for a .pdf map of locations)
  • Redmond Park & Ride - 12 spaces
  • Brickyard Park & Ride - 5 spaces

Plug & Ride Registration

Upon registration, use of these parking stalls will be limited to owners of plug-in vehicles enrolled in the pilot program. In addition to reserved parking during busy morning commute periods, participants will receive free electricity and a free one-month transit pass or comparable gift card (one-time upon registration) to reward them for their green travel habits.
