SchoolPool Program

A free and secure program helping families find others to carpool, walk, or bike together to and from school.

SchoolPool gives you a recess from driving.

Why not take a break from driving every day? SchoolPool is a free carpool matching service that can help connect you with parents of other children at your child's school for purposes of carpool, bikepool, and walking trips.

Better for you, better for the kids and the environment.

Research indicates that when students carpool, their school attendance and timeliness improve. Parents who share carpooling duties save valuable time, stress, and fuel cost, and they help the environment by taking cars off the road.

Getting a SchoolPool started is elementary.

The SchoolPool program is currently open to parents of students in all public and private elementary, middle, and high schools in King County. The program is coming soon to other participating regions of Washington and Oregon. Participation is voluntary and parents create the schedules that work best for them.

See our SchoolPool brochure (PDF) for more details about SchoolPool ridematching for carpool, walking, or bike buddies. You can also download our SchoolPool poster and bookmark.

To get started using SchoolPool:

  1. Contact your child’s school, ask for the transportation coordinator, and tell them you are interested in participating in the SchoolPool commuter program.
  2. If your school does not have a SchoolPool program set up, ask them to contact support@rideshareonline.com for information. Participating providers can help set up a safe and secure network at your school for free.
  3. Once your school’s network has been created, parents can sign up by registering through RideshareOnline.com. When you are signed up, simply log onto the site to get your ridematch list.
